Fischertechnik GmbH

Description

In times of climate crisis and the digital transformation, parents value sustainable toys with educational value. fischertechnik is a traditional brand that has always produced its products in Germany. With their current topics - from programming to renewable energies to the 4.0 factory - the products encourage playful discovery of future-oriented technologies.

The product range of fischertechnik construction kits covers a wide range: It starts with easy-to-use parts of the JUNIOR product line for five-year-olds up to complex construction kits with which robots can be built and programmed. When building the models, it becomes clear how modern technologies, mechanical principles or renewable energies work. The ROBOTICS product line offers an easy introduction to the world of programming or smart homes. Even complex programming can be easily integrated.

The construction kits are just as popular in children's rooms around the world as they are in schools and educational institutions. In addition to regular lessons, many schools also use fischertechnik in their work groups to illustrate projects or participate in competitions. Organizers value fischertechnik above all because of the opportunity it offers to immerse themselves in MINT topics (mathematics, information technology, natural science and technology) in a playful way.

Ready-built factory models with cloud connectivity illustrate and simulate Industry 4.0 processes at universities and in industrial companies. IT groups such as IBM and SAP link their software with the fischertechnik interface in order to test it as a simulation before it is used in a factory. Some companies and universities illustrate various processes of a smart factory using a digital twin that you create from the fischertechnik learning factory.

The products of the fischertechnik Education line have been specially developed for regular lessons in primary and secondary schools. The extensive accompanying material is tailored to the education plan in the respective federal state. In addition to an introduction to the construction kit topic, the lesson plans contain editable task sheets and sample solutions. This means that fischertechnik Education construction kits can be optimally integrated into regular lessons. The product range covers almost all STEM topics relevant to the education plan - from robotics to renewable energies. In addition, fischertechnik offers class sets especially for primary schools. These can be used, for example, to equip a class of 30 pupils for partner work.

Unlike many other toy manufacturers in the industry, fischertechnik develops and produces its products in Germany. This eliminates the need for long transport routes. Instead, flexibility is created to be able to deliver desired products even shortly before Christmas. fischertechnik invests in the quality of its products and in high-quality accompanying materials. The construction blocks have been combinable with each other since their market launch in 1965 and are praised by fans for their particularly high stability. Even meter-high structures remain steadfast with the famous fischertechnik building blocks.

With its construction kits, the company teaches how renewable energies work, such as energy generation using fuel cells and solar modules. This year, for the first time, fischertechnik launched a construction kit whose building blocks are made of 60 percent renewable raw materials.

The sustainability aspect is also particularly high in the fischerTiP creative material launched in 1998: the colorful fischerTiPs are made of potato starch and food coloring and are therefore completely harmless to use. The corresponding tools for conjuring up great figures and models from the TiPs - moistened with water - are made of resource-saving bioplastic.
