The 3rd German African Forum took place on 2nd October in Berlin under the motto “Boosting future skills and partnerships for sustainable growth”. This forum was an exciting, informative event for innovators, education enthusiasts and stakeholders committed to the future of African-German cooperation in TVET

As one of the sponsors of this event, the panel discussion was the biggest highlight for us. Our Regional Manager Fathi Jamal took part in the interesting panel discussion on the topic of “Harnessing skills for a sustainable future: vocational training in Africa’s renewable energy and hydrogen industries”.

In the panel discussion, our representative explained the following in relation to Christiani and TVET solutions:

  • Capacity-building is defined as the process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes, and resources that organizations and communities need to survive, adapt, and thrive in a fast-changing world.
  • Capacity-building activities can include leadership development and planning for future collaboration. At an individual level, examples of capacity-building activities can consist of training and mentorships. Organizational capacity-building activities tend to focus on a boarder scale.

The five principles of capacity-building:

  • first, know the context
  • then define what you need to achieve
  • adapt to the local conditions
  • seek suitable/affordable solutions
  • add value.

We would like to thank Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft (German-African Business Association) and iMOVE Germany for the great organization and interesting conversations live on-site.
