DE LORENZO TURNKEY PROJECTS

TVET Centres of Excellence in Ghana

De Lorenzo, through the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) of the Ministry of Education of Ghana, signed various contracts for the construction and equipping of various TVET Centres of Excellence across the country, on a turn-key basis.  

The full scope of these projects was to establish state-of-the-art TVET Centres of Excellence that have the capacity to train students in different trades (skills). As a turn-key project, De Lorenzo took the responsibility to fully execute the project from design, and the construction of the edifices to fully equipping each of the laboratories/workshops of the centres. De Lorenzo’s other key responsibility is knowledge transfer –dedicated Training of Trainers activities at each of the centres of Excellence. The overall aim and objective of this project proposal is to support the government of Ghana’s endeavours to develop technical and vocational skills relevant to the 21st-century world of work.

Students at the different centres are trained in trades such as (a mix of 5 key trades per centre):

  • Electrical Installation
  • Automation and Mechatronics
  • Renewable Energies
  • Electronics
  • Electric Machines
  • Thermotronics (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning)
  • Autoronics and Automotive Technologies
  • Food Processing Technologies – Value Addition
  • Wood Working
  • Garment and Tailoring
  • Jewellery Making (Lapidary)
  • Information Communication Technologie
