On 27th August, Nisai signed a project agreement with the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) with the aim of investigating the potential of ICT for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within schools. The joint activities undertaken by Nisai and UNESCO IITE will be aimed at the social and educational inclusion of students, by promoting the access to information and educational materials by all means of ICT.
In line with this agreement, Nisai has launched a 6-10 week course dedicated to the research of the SDGs, relating each goal to real-life situations. Students will be given the opportunity to investigate ways in which the goals link with each other; including how these goals can make an impact on modern life and how we can tackle them effectively. Across all joint UNESCO IITE and Nisai projects, students will be able to develop their English and Mathematics skills, using the SDGs as the foundation to their learning.
Mr Tao Zhan, Director of UNESCO IITE commented: “The Sustainable Development Goal for Education (SDG4) is the shared commitment of the international community with the ambitious goal of creating inclusive and equitable quality education for all in a lifelong process. With its unique passion and strength, UNESCO IITE has been working closely with UNESCO Member States and partners around the globe for this common dream and challenging task for 2030. It is our great pleasure to have Nisai Group as a new partner of the Institute and a new member of the IITE’s global collaboration network. We very much appreciate the responsibility and innovative approach of Nisai, particularly on equity and inclusion of education. We are looking forward to a very fruitful and creative cooperation between UNESCO IITE and Nisai Group towards our shared vision of leaving no one behind in education.”
Ms Natalia Amelina, Senior National Project Officer and Chief of Unit of Teacher Professional Development and Networking at UNESCO IITE said: “The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development equally concerns all countries and all global citizens. Its interconnected, indivisible goals and aspirational targets stimulate decisive actions and call for collaborative partnership across borders, communities and industries. Our joint initiative with Nisai will support promoting the SDGs amongst the young generation. Students will gain the opportunity to learn about the overarching global Sustainable Development Goals in a real-life environment through Nisai’s skills-based programme which is tailored to enrich school curricula and ensure more viable skills and abilities”.
Dr Dhruv Patel. Chief Executive of Nisai Group remarked: “We are thrilled to partner with such a prestigious organisation. In line with our latest campaign, #Nisai2030, this strategic partnership with UNESCO IITE brings us one step closer to achieving sustainability through education.”
As part of this partnership, UNESCO IITE and Nisai Group will also explore opportunities for cooperation in various countries worldwide, with a special focus on CIS and the Asia Pacific regions.
