University of Helsinki Centre for Continuing Education HY+  provides continuing education and development services for professionals, institutions, organisations, enterprises, states, and individuals. As a fully owned company by the University of Helsinki, HY+ seeks to improve the future world and well-being of people through lifelong learning, knowledge sharing, and development.

HY+’s services reflect all the academic fields of the University of Helsinki, and although based on solid research, the training programmes are designed to serve practice. In development and consultancy services HY+ believes in collaboration and empowerment. The company’s role in development programmes is to assist collaboration partners during the process and support them to take the ownership of the project and implement it in a sustainable way.

Optimizing Education Systems and Developing Professional Competences

For countries aiming to enhance the performance of their education systems, HY+ offers expertise to evaluate current performance and to design and execute development. HY+’s Education Reforms are designed to cover all levels of education – from Early Childhood Education to University or College levels. The Organisational Development Programmes offered by HY+ are more set to fine-tune and reshape existing structures and approaches through learning and education.

The eleven high standard faculties of the University of Helsinki form a solid basis for providing education for professionals in diverse fields. The Professional Development Programmes seek to build and support change in the knowledge and skills of the participants.

HY+’s Professional Development Programmes consist of Master Classes in Finland and Intensive Training Programmes in participants’ home country. UniVisits for Professionals and UniCamps for Future Professionals

HY+’s unique UniVisit concepts provide groups of professionals with an insight into the Finnish education system and expertise.
HY+ helps the visiting groups to connect with the University of Helsinki’s top professionals, scientists, and researchers, as well as Finnish schools,
companies, and government organisations.

The most requested UniVisit concept is EduVisit, which is a customised professional educational visit designed to showcase Finnish practices in education. Medical Science Visit showcases the internationally renowned medical campus of the University of Helsinki and Law and Society Visit the Finnish Rule of Law and practices. Admission Visit is designed for groups interested in the study opportunities at the University of Helsinki.

Finland is one of the safest countries in the world with excellent and internationally high-ranking education for children. UniCamps organised by HY+ offer children aged 8–18 innovative educational activities in dedicated science, sport and language centres, surrounded by Finnish nature.

UniCamps include Science, Adventure and Language camps which are all tailored to the needs and wishes of each group and can take place both in summer and in winter. The educational activities support the development of 21st century skills and utilise innovative Finnish pedagogical approaches and methods. UniCamps help the participants to become future professionals.
