Water is an essential resource for life, economic development, and environmental sustainability. However, its availability and quality are increasingly threatened by factors such as population growth, industrial and agricultural pollution, climate change, and rapid urbanization. In this context, water treatment has become a global priority — both for the present and for future generations.
At EDIBON, we are fully aware of this challenge. That’s why we’ve spent decades designing and manufacturing advanced equipment to help students, researchers, and professionals train in the most relevant water treatment technologies. Our mission is clear: to contribute to the development of high-quality technical education that drives innovation in this critical field.

Technical Training for Change
Effective water management starts with strong education. Through our pilot plants and equipment, users gain a deep understanding of the physical, chemical, and biological processes involved in the treatment of drinking water and wastewater. This includes basic stages such as filtration or adsorption, as well as more advanced techniques like ion exchange.
Aware of the importance of bridging theory and practice, all our equipment is built to the highest quality standards, with a hands-on approach that allows users to observe, control, and analyze processes in real time using computerized systems. This promotes active learning, the development of technical skills, and applied research.
Technology and Precision in the Service of Learning
Among our most advanced systems is the Computer-Controlled Water Treatment Plant 1 (PPTAC/1). This unit, designed by EDIBON, allows users to study the basic principles of key water treatment operations. Its flexible design enables modification of the process setup, analysis of each stage’s efficiency, and monitoring of all parameters through our proprietary SCADA software.
Similarly, the Computer-Controlled Water Treatment Plant 2 (PPTAC/2) simulates a real water treatment facility and demonstrates two water treatment operations: deep-bed filtration and ion exchange. Thanks to its data acquisition system, users can record results and draw accurate conclusions, fostering research and critical analysis.

Committed to a Sustainable Future
At EDIBON, we believe that technology and education must go hand in hand to meet the environmental challenges of our time. We are committed to developing pilot plants that prepare future engineers and technicians to manage one of the planet’s most valuable resources: water.
Moreover, all our equipment and pilot plants are designed and manufactured in Spain, allowing us to ensure superior technical quality, adaptability to each institution’s needs, and ongoing support over time. With more than 14 technical areas and internationally recognized experience, we are proud to be leaders in applied technical education for water treatment.
Water treatment is much more than a technology — it is a global responsibility. And at EDIBON, we are contributing to this cause with innovation, commitment, and educational excellence. Our pilot plants are essential in training the professionals who will lead the transition to more efficient, sustainable, and equitable water management for all.
