Worlddidac Advances Strategic Preparations for Asia 2025 During High-Level Visit to Hangzhou

Dr. Rodrigo Sáez Muñoz meets with government, industry, and innovation partners to strengthen collaboration ahead of Worlddidac Asia 2025 in Hangzhou.

As Worlddidac Asia 2025 approaches, preparations for a truly impactful edition are already well underway. In April 2025, Worlddidac Association, led by Director General Dr. Rodrigo Sáez Muñoz, conducted a multi-day mission to Hangzhou, China — the host city of Worlddidac Asia 2025. Together with Chinese co-organizers and institutional partners, the delegation visited key stakeholders, including local government authorities, Alibaba Cloud, and H3C, to solidify the event’s strategic framework and strengthen innovation exchange in the education sector.

Anchoring the Vision: Meeting with Hangzhou Authorities and Expo Center Visit

One of the highlights of the visit was a formal meeting at the Hangzhou International Expo Center — the venue for Worlddidac Asia 2025. The delegation was received by Mr. Zhu Dangqi, Director of the Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone Management Committee, along with representatives from the local investment and development groups.

“This visit reinforced our shared ambition to create a relevant and high-impact platform where global and Chinese education stakeholders connect, collaborate, and innovate.”Dr. C. Rodrigo Sáez Muñoz, Secretary General – Director General of the WORLDDIDAC Association

The exchange focused on how the exhibition economy can act as an engine for regional innovation, particularly in the education sector. Dr. Sáez Muñoz emphasized that Worlddidac Asia is not only a marketplace for educational solutions, but also a platform to foster cooperation between global stakeholders and China’s fast-evolving education landscape. The visit also included an on-site inspection of the venue and its facilities, reinforcing mutual confidence in the location’s readiness to host an international-caliber event this autumn.

Smart Education in Action: Exchange with Alibaba Cloud

The delegation also visited the Hangzhou headquarters of Alibaba Cloud, a leading driver of digital innovation in China. The visit offered a close-up look at how advanced technologies — from AI to cloud infrastructure and education-specific big data — are being applied to reimagine learning ecosystems.

Alibaba Cloud has built an end-to-end technology architecture covering computing power, tool development, model services, and scenario-based applications. Its solutions support more than half of China’s top-tier universities (Project 985) and are helping drive academic research and campus innovation. Particularly impressive was the integration of education data analytics to enhance student guidance and real-time parent communication via mobile platforms.

Through smart campus applications — from automated alerts to administrative command systems — Alibaba is helping education providers manage complexity while ensuring secure, efficient, and personalized digital environments. These real-world innovations are central to the evolving narrative Worlddidac Asia seeks to reflect.

A Scalable Blueprint: In-Depth Dialogue with H3C on Smart Campus Innovation

The visit to H3C Group, one of China’s leading providers of digital solutions, provided further insight into how large-scale implementation of smart campus strategies is unfolding. H3C’s FAST Smart Campus Solution, which has already been deployed in over 80,000 schools across the country, combines intelligent infrastructure with seamless management, security, and teaching tools.

Particularly noteworthy was the demonstration of their “intelligent full-optical network” that simplifies operations across wired, wireless, IoT, and cloud layers — creating a unified digital backbone for schools. Their Smart Campus Operation Center, powered by digital twin technology, helps optimize performance in areas such as safety, experience, cost, and efficiency — ultimately enabling a more adaptive and responsive learning environment.

The in-depth discussion focused not only on technology, but also on strategic alignment: how to co-create meaningful education ecosystems that bridge global knowledge with local innovation capacity.

Toward Hangzhou 2025: A Platform Shaped by Partnership

Dr. Rodrigo Sáez Muñoz’s visit reflects Worlddidac’s commitment to dialogue, discovery, and collaboration. By engaging with public sector leaders, education innovators, and technology partners, the foundations are being laid for a Worlddidac Asia that not only showcases solutions — but enables conversations that matter.
