On April 4-6, 2017, the fifth international exhibition of technologies for education and professional training WORLDDIDAC Astana 2017 took place in the Exhibition Center “Korme”. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Association Worlddidac.
Alongside the exhibition, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Uchebnik” conducted an international scientific and practical conference “Modern Information and Educational Environment: Traditions and Innovations”.
The opening ceremony was attended by the new Director General of Worlddidac Association Danny Gauch, as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the republican scientific and practical center “Uchebnik”.
Exhibitors
55 companies from 12 countries took part in the exhibition. Among them were manufacturers of educational software, interactive and multimedia solutions, training aids and equipment for pre-school institutions, training and laboratory equipment, devices, simulators, special equipment and furniture for disabled children, special equipment for professional training and higher education institutions, textbooks and teaching aids for all levels of education, materials and equipment for children’s creative activity, stationary, toys, robots and many others.
Attendees
The event was attended by 5299 representatives of educational institutions and educational specialists from 6 countries and from all regions of Kazakhstan. Among the visitors there were guests from Russia, Germany, Belarus, Turkey, Nigeria and South Korea. The majority of visitors (77%) were from Astana. These were representatives of commercial and government structures, kindergartens, schools, colleges and universities. 9% were visitors from the Akmola region, and 14% were visitors from other countries and regions of Kazakhstan. Among the visitors were representatives of the embassies of several countries and directors of large companies.
Seminars
Traditional seminars of Worlddidac Astana were attended by 3500 teachers and guests of the exhibition. Many interested listeners also attended the presentations of specially invited speakers. These included winners of the contest “The Best Teacher of the Year” from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia. New equipment and the latest developments for education were presented at seminars by representatives of 24 companies.
Pavillions
A pavilion of robotics was organized in the Worlddidac Astana 2017 area where visitors of the exhibition could meet the representatives of such well-known companies as Lego Education (Russia), Roborobo (South Korea), NGO Android Technics (Russia). Trainers of the Lego Education company held master classes for teachers and experts in robotics throughout all the exhibition days. Pavilions of publishing houses of educational literature and preschool education were also organized in the exhibition area.
