Folkuniversitetet
Description
Folkuniversitetet is an association of five foundations: the extra-mural departments attached to the Universities of Stockholm, Uppsala, Göteborg, Lund and Umeå. It is an independent, non-profit education association. We run school, VET and adult education courses and develop people through knowledge and creativity. We are represented in 48 municipalities throughout Sweden and have our branches in Germany, France, Estonia and UK.
Folkuniversitetet is one of the biggest providers of higher vocational education. It has been active at the European level in development projects focuced on quality in VET. From 2009 to 2020, it initiated more than 12 transnational project based on the European quality assurance framework for VET (EQVET). 2019 the European Commission approved our modeö "EQAVET in Practice" as A European tool for quality assurance in VET and included it in the work of the EQAVET secretariat. . One of our main goals with membership is to continue the development of quality in VET through close cooperation with enterprises which are members in the association.
