At the WorldSkills vocational championship, young people compete in over 60 professions for a medal. All competitors give their all in their discipline to be the best of their country. The overarching WorldSkills association, its members and partners cooperate in setting up this international competition and thus foster vocational education and training worldwide. Festo has been a Global Industry Partner of WorldSkills for more than 30 years. Meanwhile, Festo provides the official competition equipment in four skills: #04 Mechatronics, #48 Industry 4.0, #55 Water Technology and #62 Renewable Energy.
Skill #55 Water Technology
Water is life. Without water, no one can survive. The current climate change, natural disasters, and an escalating shortage of skilled workers are good reasons to engage with the topic of water and wastewater management. Technical education and training is the key to success because professionals can identify and analyze problems, and provide solutions. Pumping, cleaning, measuring, controlling, dosing, transporting, and analyzing are one few tasks of water technicians. Water technology makes a significant contribution to sustainability and environmental protection.
